Badger is as close to a true blue roan as you can get, with just a little red in his muzzle. He was green broke when he came to us and had mainly been used for breeding and a little cattle gathering on an eastern Colorado ranch. He has produced some gorgeous and athletic blue and red roan offspring that have been a pleasure to start and show his good disposition.

After starting Badger over in the round pen, he progressed rapidly, and proved to be very smart, athletic, quick, gentle and talented. He became so quiet our little girls could soon ride him double down the road.

Currently, Badger has been started both heading and heeling and is showing extreme talent on both ends. He will make several training runs in a row, can run down the fastest steer in the pen, then walk back toward the boxes as quiet as you'll see anywhere. For a smaller horse, he is proving to be incredibly fast when asked to be. He also shows natural desire to keep a rope tight when used on the ranch and enjoys his job.

Watch for him on the road this winter; our goal is to haul him to the indoors and get him road savvy and accustomed to the hustle and bustle of competition.
